As our third cohort comes to an end, we would like to take the time to introduce the newest set of young female coders! Throughout the 8-week long certification program, they gained knowledge in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. On November 2nd, they will have the opportunity to show off their new coding skills in a final showcase!
My name is Yaritza Cruz-Villarreal and I love to paint! I live in San Antonio, but I am originally from Wichita, Kansas. I LOVE dogs! I have one dog and his name is Chile.
My name is Elena Garcia. I like playing volleyball and basketball. I’m also in advanced math in school. I’m in the 8th grade at Thrall Middle School. I have a little sister named Isabella and I adore her. I was born and lived in Mexico. When I was 5, we moved here to the United States and now we have moved all around. One of the reasons I signed up is because I want to show my mom that I can get a really good job when I’m older. She wants the best for me. If I learn how to code I could get a good job in the future.
My name is Ariana Deleon, I am a senior in High School (CLASS OF 2020!!). I am an aspiring physician-scientist, and aim to gain a degree in Neuroscience and Cell Biology.
My name is Mia Hernandez. My career goal so far is to become a coder for a social media company, or a hospital. Some of my hobbies are gaming, cooking, and drawing. I signed up to learn more about JavaScript, and I know it will open doors for me in the future. One fun fact about me is I flew alone to West Point for a STEM summer camp.
