We’re honored to have Venus Piñeyro De Hoyos join the Latinitas Board in Austin! Piñeyro De Hoyos is an experienced IT development leader who has worked with Fortune 50 and high-tech companies. Over the past 13 years, she has immersed herself in managing tech solution teams for companies such as Dell and Bearing Point. Currently, Venus is the Senior Business Intelligence Manager for General Motors, where she devotes her time to leading a team of skilled professionals who aim to improve the GM customer experience. In addition to her impactful roles in tech, she is passionate about helping disadvantaged communities and advocating for diversity in the technological world.
What makes Latinitas’ mission meaningful to you?
As the mother of a little Latinita, I want to ensure there is a network of support and the building blocks firmly established so that every single young woman has access to all the opportunities available. I believe Latinas are uniquely posed to contribute largely to a societal shift and some of the keys are the early exposure to technology, mentors, and empowerment training.
What knowledge and skills do you feel you bring to the board?
I am an immigrant who has successfully navigated the school system through to postgraduate and now work in a Fortune 7 company. I bring the knowledge of working in technology in Corporate America and can provide my personal experience of what would have made my journey easier. I am bilingual and enjoy creating content and presentations that can be used in PR.
What motivates you?
I would like to instill the certainty for younger generations that the opportunities available are many and ARE for them. I am also deeply passionate about helping solve the issue of mobility for the underserved communities to enable #ACCESS (to education, jobs, healthcare, etc.)
